Le immagini esistono solo nel momento in cui qualcuno le guarda: è proprio a questo sguardo attivatore che devono la loro genesi e la possibilità di prolungare la loro durata nella memoria di chi le ha osservate.

In questa installazione il numero degli spettatori presenti nella sala viene rilevato da un dispositivo (kinect) che, in base ad una minore o maggiore presenza di osservatori, rende più visibile o invisibile un’immagine proiettata davanti ai loro occhi.

È quindi la quantità di sguardo degli spettatori che permette ad immagini sfuocate e poco visibili di diventare nitide e visibili, per poi sparire di nuovo quando lasciano la stanza.

Images exist only when there is somebody looking at them: thanks to this activating gaze they are generated and get to extend their persistence in the memory of those who observed them.

In this installation the number of spectators present in the room is detected by a device (kinect) which, in reference to a low or numerous presence of observers, makes a projected image in front of their eyes more visible or invisible.

It is therefore the quantity of spectators’ gaze that allows the visualization of images which take shape from blurred reflections, just to disappear again when unwatched.
